June 2018

On 11th June, nine Y5 pupils travelled to Willenhall Community Primary School for a rounders event. They played very well as a team and came third! Well done everyone!

On 6th June, four Y6 students went to a Mini Tennis event at Coventry and North Warwickshire Sports club. They played their matches so well that they won! They now get to go to the finals later on this month! Well done!


May 2018


On 22nd May, 10 children took part in an Olympics event at King Henry VIII school. There was throwing, jumping, running and swimming involved. We even got some medals in swimming and basketball throwing!​

On Wednesday 9th May, the 5/6 football team went to Sacred Heart Primary to play the quarter final of the Alan Stockhill Cup. Unfortunately, it was a 2-1 loss but it was a brilliant game!

March 2018

Key Stage 1 agility competition - Year 1

On 15th March, 30 children from Year 1 took part in an aglilty event. This was the first time any of these children had represented our school and they did exceptionally well - taking part in every event and doing their absolute best. Well done, children! Here you can see them doing javelin, standing long jump, chest throw and the speed bounce.

   

   


Magnificent 7 Festival - Year 4

On 14th March, Year 4 Yew went to the Alan Higgs Centre to take part in the Magnificent 7 festival. Lots of fun was had taking part in all the different events and recording scores in the booklet. Thanks also to the Y5 sports leaders who accompanied them to the event and supported the staff. 


Year 5/6 football against Cannon Park Primary

On 7th March, the Y5/6 football team played Cannon Park in the Small Schools League. Congratulations boys on a very convincing win!

Year 2 Gymnastics

6/3/18 - 10 year 2 children went to Tribe Gymnastics Studio and took part in a competition against other schools. We had to perform two routines and were judged on this. We also got to have a go and an 'Air Track' which was like a trampoline. We did so well as as a team. This was the first time any of us had represented our school at an event!

February 2018

Year 5/6 football tournament

3/2/17 - Seven Y5/6 boys went to the Coventry Connexion and took part in a 5-a-side tournament. They did very well representing our school.


Football matches against Stivicall and All Saints - 1st and 2nd February​

Match one was against Stivichall (home) in the second round of the Harry Shaw Cup. Unfortunately, we lost 8-2 but we never gave up!

Match two was against All Saints (home) in the Small School's League​. We won 2-0 and worked hard as a team and really deserved the win!


Janaury 2018

Indoor rowing event - 10/1/18

A group of year 6 children went to the Alan Higgs Centre to take part in an indoor event. Each child did their own 90 second sprint to see how far they could travel. Then there was a relay event. The girls came 2nd and the boys came 5th in their events. Well done everyone.

Tag Rugby Festival - Year 5/6

As part of our Engage! Values work in Rugby, some children in year 5 and 6 went to Tag Rugby festival at the Alan Higgs Centre. ​

Tae Kwon Do taster day - 17/11/17

On Friday 17th November, Jackson White Tae Kwon Do school came into school to give the children in years 2-6 the opportunity to try out some moves!

 

Year 5/6 football match​ - 16/11/17

On Thursday 16th November we had our first league match against Cli​fford Bridge Primary School. We suffered a 4-0 defeat this time around but played incredibly well as a team. 


Year 5/6 football match - 14/11/17

​On Tuesday 14th November the team played Broad Heath Primary School in the first round of the cup. We won 8-0 so will now proceed to compete for the Harry Shaw Trophy later in the year

OCTOBER 2017


 Year 3/4 football tournament 

On 11th October, we went to the AT7 Centre to play in a tournament against other local schools. Even though we didn't make the final, we played our best and managed to score some great goals against some tough opponents.

Year 5/6 Biathlon

On 19th October, we went to the Xcel Centre to compete on a Biathlon which is a 400 metre run and then a 25 metre swim. We performed incredibly well. Congtaulations to Ronan who was the fastest runner along with Brooke and Lucas who were the fastest swimmers for Whitley Abbey.
