In the news...

Autumn 2

Our Literacy text for this half term is 'King of the Sky' by Nicola Davies. As part of this, we have been learning about pigeons. We have done a lot of researching and debating around the importance of pigeons today and whether or not they should be controlled. We loved using our cross-curricular skills in computing to publish our reports as part of our school newsletter to share the information with other children.

So, what do you think.... are pigeons 'flying rats' or 'urban heroes'?

We are becoming forest school experts by learning to use a wide range of tools to explore our beautiful woodland areas. Here we are showing off the art of Japanese printing. Did you know that no paints were involved to create the colour? We used a special hammer tool and pounded the natural pigment of the leaves into the cloth. This art of printing has been around for centuries!

Autumn 1

The children are enjoying their Forest School sessions with Mr Austin where they get the chance to explore our wonderful outdoor areas. Here they are in action having fun making mud!

The children have been busy getting to grips with our new Literacy novel, 'Tom's Midnight Garden'. They are enjoying reading the images presented and inferring clues to help them predict what may happen next.
