Dear Parents/Carers
Our Catering provider, Solihull Catering have created a new website which provides downloadable menus and allergy information to enable parents/carers to make more informed choices on a daily basis as to whether their child/children would like a school meal rather than a packed lunch from home.

Food allergies are a growing concern for many families, and we understand how crucial it is to offer allergen-free options. All the recipes go through a robust process to ensure allergen information is available for all the ingredients and products used.

Allergen information is available on the Solihull Catering website for each menu item for parents to review, but we also encourage our Unit Catering Manager at school to work with parents to discuss dietary requirements to ensure each child can be catered for safely.

Once a child’s allergies are registered with the school, we use that information to ensure food isn’t served containing allergens even if there are short term changes to the menu due to unforeseen circumstances. Parents can rest easy knowing that Solihull Catering Services goes above and beyond to accommodate children with food allergies.

Councillor Bob Sleigh, cabinet member for Resources, has recently featured in an article in the Solihull Observer which underpins the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council’s commitment to providing fresh, seasonal, and nutritious meals for pupils. Parents and schools can be reassured that children are getting the very best at lunchtime as our close working relationships with public health influence the decisions, we make for school meals.”
