Sports Premium

Most schools with primary-age pupils receive the PE and sport premium.​ Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.

Whitley Abbey Primary School – Sports Premium Impact Plan 2025-26

Consider the 5 key indicators from DfE.

Key indicator 1: The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that primary school children undertake at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day in school

Key achievements to date until July 2025: Areas for further improvement and baseline evidence of need:

·         Bronze award School Games Mark

·         Every child offered a place in an after school club that applied for a minimum of a half term.

·         2 festivals entered for the participation of children who would not normally get the chance to be selected to represent the school in competitions.

·         Tag rugby played by girls

·         Highly successful Sport Week with a traditional Sports with other unique sporting opportunities

·         PE Lead completed Outdoor Learning training

·         Sports week with a range of activities for years reception-6

·         Achieve the Silver School Games Mark

·         Identify reasons why children don’t apply for an after school club

·         Expand the variety of extra- curricular clubs- including SEN children

Schools can choose to use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to provide additional provision for swimming but this must be for activity over and above the national curriculum requirements. Have you used it in this way? Yes

To ensure all existing swimmers and increase their attainment by 10 m.

 

All non-swimmers to achieve 25 m to meet the NC expectations by year 6.

 

 

Pupils across years 1-5 to have experienced some outward bound style activities to promote outdoor learning.

All children across the school offered a club from years 1 to 6. Children are prioritised to ensure that everyone gets a turn who wants to be included.

 

Pupils have voted on clubs they would like to see in school.

 

SH Active Sports have given enthusiastic assemblies and achieved full class with waiting lists.

 

Creative Flair Kids Dance class has had a range of ages and abilities in each after school club.
